Pen Systems · C01
Crates that hold the sow safely during farrowing and lactation and protect piglets from being crushed.
Sizes and configuration are customised to the project; details are agreed with you before quotation.
A farrowing crate confines the sow during farrowing and lactation so she cannot lie down suddenly on her piglets, and gives the stockperson safe access to both. It is combined with a piglet creep area with heating, a sow feeder and a drinker. Crate dimensions, bar spacing and floor type are matched to the sow size and the local welfare rules.
The crate limits sudden movements of the sow, which lowers the risk of crushing.
The stockperson can reach the sow and piglets without entering the crate.
Hardware for feeding, drinking and a creep area is planned as part of the crate.
